Pair of Sanluca armchairs by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni dating back to Gavina’s production, recently upholstered in cotton velvet. Each armchair is made of separate wooden curved pieces, connected to each other by screws. Polyurethane padding. Oak legs.

Sanluca is the first result of a deep collaboration and friendship between Dino Gavina and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, defined by Gavina himself an extraordinary partnership. Designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1959, in the following year it was produced for the first time by the newborn Gavina SpA.

The project revolves around a few well-defined concepts: ergonomics, industrial mass production, overall elegance and harmony of its forms, without giving up comfort.

Sanluca is an icon of 20th century industrial design, it is part of the permanent collection of Triennale Design Museum in Milan and it has been exhibited in many international exhibitions and museums, including MoMA in New York.
